As an American living in Shanghai, it is not difficult to find a teaching position. It is, however, very difficult to find a quality teaching position amongst all the other schools trying to turn a quick profit at the expense of it’s teachers and Chinese staff. It is not uncommon to hear stories from other foreign teachers that include problems with payment, miscommunications or even outright deceipt, and negative working environments.
